His Glory... His Power... His Family

Brian's Testimonies and Photo

ABOUT BRIAN

Brian Burke is originally from Nashville, Tennessee and grew up within the hamlet of Hillsboro Village. He was raised in a broken home by his Mother and Grandmother. He attended David Lipscomb University and graduated in 1985 with a degree in Education.

While attending David Lipscomb University, Brian met his wife, Beth, and they were married in 1986. They have been married for thirty-seven years.

Brian is the father to five children (Reid, Ethan, Edye Braeutigam, Lily and Wilber, grandfather to two boys (James and Judah) and one girl (JoAnna), and father-in-law to Daniel Braeutigam and Taylor Burke.

Brian spent seventeen years employed with several General Contractors. For the last ten years he has been an entrepreneur owning a small local residential/commercial construction company called Rhythm Builders. He started out with small renovations and has worked himself up to now building out-of-ground homes. His son Reid works with him as a Project Manager. And his second son Ethan is employed within the construction industry as well.

Brian Burke is a follower of Jesus Christ having been originally raised in an evangelical denomination until he was thirty-three years old. He didn't officially give his life to Christ until he was eighteen years old, because he was extremely shy and was afraid of being up front publicly giving his life away to Jesus. The combination of a microphone and lots of people was terrifying to him.

BRIAN'S TESTIMONY ABOUT HIS BAPTISM OF SPIRIT

When Brian was thirty-two years old, he was extremely angry with his wife and God because of the difficulties in his marriage. Brian, foolishly, ran off into extreme sin. After ten months of turning away from God, he was stuck in this sin-pattern and couldn't extricate himself even after trying three different times. He told God, "I've never seen you do anything like in scripture with miracles, but if you are real, I need you to help me". Brian had been raised in a denomination, that didn't believe in the voice of God, that God's voice could only be read about within scripture. Within a week, he heard God's voice while sitting on his couch. He was given information, by the Holy Spirit, that cracked the door to freedom. Three to four hours later he found out the information God had given him was true. After confessing his sin to an Elder at a small charismatic church, the Elder suggested that Brian needed a "Baptism of Spirit". Two days later Brian came up from the waters of a swimming pool in the Oak Hill area of Nashville. Men began to pray for him. It began to literally rain on the group of men. Then, lightening and thunder struck very close to the group with the lightening and thunder being in unison because it was so close. Brian ducked out of fear of the lightening. A man standing beside him said to him, "Don't duck, that was God", Brian immediately felt a strong sensation of being filled from his feet to the top of his head. Brian had black hair and the next morning he awakened with a white streak in his hair evidenced by the accompanying photo. He knew he had been marked for service by the Holy Spirit. He immediately began a street and marketplace ministry pursuing the lost, the backslidden and helping those worst case marriage scenarios of separation and divorced. The evidence of the Baptism of Spirit is that one day Brian had almost zero compassion, zero witnessing and testifying about Jesus and zero power of the Holy Spirit. And the next moment Brian is overflowing with compassion, a strong desire to see the lost saved and Prophesying correctly from the Voice of God.

BRIAN'S TESTIMONY ABOUT BECOMING A PROPHET

At the beginning of his ministry, several times a year people would say, "You are a Prophet". Brian's answer would always be, "I can hear God's voice when He wants me to, but I'm not a Prophet... He would come and tell me if this was so." Secretly, Brian had asked the Lord to call him to be an Evangelist like Steve Hill, who he had seen lead a revival in Pensacola, Florida. Fifteen years later, a Prophet told Brian that, "God had told him to pray for Brian and set him in as a Prophet." Brian let him pray what he wanted. But Brian later told God, "I'm not going to receive this office unless you come to me yourself and tell me". "Promotion from men and through men isn't enough." Eight years later, Brian had a night-dream. In this dream he saw an old man with a white robe and long white hair to the floor. The man motioned Brian over and showed him a Book. He pointed to the front cover of the Book. The Book's title was "Book of Promotions". The Old Man opened the Book and showed him Brian's name at the top of the list with "Abrahamic" out beside his name. There were many more names with promotions below his name that had been promoted to "Elder" beside their names. Brian woke up from the dream frustrated because his name didn't have "Elder" beside it having always wanted to be an Elder of a local church. A few days later, Brian began deeply studying the patriarch Abraham. When he came to chapter 20 of Genesis, the King Abimelek is told by God in a dream to "return Abraham's wife to him, for he is a Prophet". Immediately, the Lord spoke to Brian that, he had made him a Prophet too. He said, "You wanted me to come to you directly and I did". Brian reluctantly received the office of Prophet, with the office of Evangelist still in the back of his mind.

BRIAN'S TESTIMONY ABOUT BEING A MISSIONARY TO THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA

Brian was drawn by the Lord to travel in his truck to the four corners of the United States praying throughout the land. This took place over a period of time of several years. He was within 50 miles of the Border with Canada in Maine. He traveled to San Diego. He visited Seattle. And he has set foot on the furthest beach in the Southeast at Fort Zachary in Key West, Florida. Brian once had a night-dream from the Lord. In this dream an attorney pointed his finger right up to Brian's nose, spoke in a loud voice and said... "MISSIONARY TO THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA!" Interestingly, this night dream came after his travels to the four corners of the United States.

BRIAN'S TESTIMONY OF HIS FIRST SERMON PREACHED IN ISRAEL

I want to preface this testimony with two facts. The first fact is that just a few years ago, I was looking for family members I've never met before in Upstate New York. I've never met them before because they are on my father's side of the family and he was very dysfunctional toward them. And to my surprise, I found out I'm one quarter Jewish from my Grandmother Kathryn Burke. My father never mentioned to me that he was half Jewish. The second fact is it took twenty-seven years before the Lord called me to preach my first sermon and it was preached in Israel in 2023. I was invited to preach in Israel by a close friend of mine who is a missionary there in the town of Rishon LeTsiyon.

My friend said if you come and preach, you must prophesy to my congregation. I prepared for the sermon and then five minutes before I was to preach, the Lord changed my sermon topic. He had me preach on the Baptism of Spirit. Before the night was over, most of the congregation came down front to receive a prophecy or receive a Baptism of Spirit through the laying on of hands. Most wanted both. What struck me as so amazingly unusual and powerful was I had just found out my Jewishness, I knew that the Lord had called me to have a church and to be a missionary to the United States of America, and that He asked me to speak about the Baptism of Spirit... in my first sermon. And I was only about twenty-seven miles from the original Baptism of Spirit where, "Suddenly a sound like the blowing of a violent wind came from heaven and filled the whole house where they were sitting. They saw what seemed to be tongues of fire that separated and came to rest on each of them. All of them were filled with the Holy Spirit". Acts 2:2-4a. When I preached the sermon I had no realization of this until afterward.
